Fall 2013 Grants!
Snowdon is honored to be the recipient of several fall grant awards. Two grants will help fund next year’s intern program: $2,000 from the Whittenberger Foundation and $2,000 from the Idaho Community Foundation provided through the Perc H. Shelton and Gladys A. Pospisil Shelton Foundation Advised Fund. A photo of our summer intern, Megan Heller (with Ollie) was featured on the cover of the Idaho Community Foundation newsletter magazine!
Two grants give us a start on our goal to fund replacement of the large raptor flight cage: $1,000 from The Bernice Barbour Foundation and $5,000 from the Wildlife Support Charitable Trust.
Many thanks to the McCall Farmer's Market for donating $1,000 to Snowdon Wildlife Sanctuary through their donation program. We encourage everyone in the McCall area to visit the Farmer's Market near the lake and marina every Wednesday and Saturday mornings.
Patnership with the Payette Children's Forest!
Snowdon Wildlife Sanctuary has partnered with a new non-profit in the area, the Payette Children's Forest. The goal of the Payette Children’s Forest is to promote youth outdoor education and recreation programs in the Adams and Valley county areas of Idaho.
We provided an owl pellet-dissection booth at the kickoff event held at the Bear Basin Trailhead outside McCall. It was great fun for all!
Thank You Idaho Master Naturalists!
Snowdon partners with the McCall Chapter of the Idaho Master Naturalists. Master Naturalists help at our educational dome and provide other volunteer work when needed. They even pitch in and feed animals. Thank you so much!
